I have always believed that mindset was 98% of anyone’s success… mine included. Skills are great, but mindset is where it’s at! I know this to be truer than true, because I have seen it in my own lifetime and time again. The things that I am 100% totally in and believe through and through… ARE TRUE and if I question things… well I get questionable results. It doesn’t matter what it is, whether personal or business, my mindset dictates my results.
This got me thinking… I am in the process of setting my intentions for the year and working on getting really clear on what I want to create. I am exploring how I want my life to look, how I want my business to look and pulling together a strategy that feels really good to make it happen.
While I was doing this, I professed that I was frustrated… And with love, my guy responded with… what in the world could you be frustrated with. You have so many amazing things happening and this last year has been incredible for you.
Of course, as soon as he said that… I was pulled back into a space of all that I had accomplished. And, in all honesty, there is no reason to be frustrated! I have done everything I said I was going to do and I am steadily moving towards my next goals.
I don’t know about you… but I think my frustration derives from wanting to achieve something REALLY FAST… or at least faster than I am. Do you ever feel that way?
So, because frustration has me focused on things that well… don’t matter and definitely don’t support my momentum, I decided to start a Success Jar!
Now, if you don’t know what it is, I will explain… For me, I am going to create the cutest, most colorful jar that I LOVE to look at and put it on my desk. Then, I am going to get super cute pieces of paper cut up in squares and every time I have a personal or business achievement or success, I will write it on the paper and stick it in the jar. Not only will I be looking at something that is super pleasing to the eye, but I will be putting my hand in that jar regularly and reading up on all I have achieved!
If the jar thing isn’t for you, a weekly spot to celebrate your accomplishments in your day planner or journal will work too! In all fairness, we just don’t celebrate ourselves enough! We focus way to much attention on what was, instead of what might be or hasn’t happen!
Let’s shift our focus this year and be so focused on how amazing we are, that we can do nothing but be more AMAZING!
Are you with me?
